Events platform

KlubN.

The events platform for Oslo's club culture: event pages with lineup, venue and tickets, the resident DJs, mixes, a gallery from real nights, and partner pages so other organisers can sell through it too. One codebase I built and also operate.

The situation

Oslo's Afrobeats, Hip Hop, Amapiano and Shatta nights lived on Instagram posts and third-party ticket links. Nothing held the culture together: who is playing, where, what it costs, what last month looked like. KlubN is the home for that, and because it is my own events company, it is also where I learn what an events platform has to do at three in the morning.

What I made

Event pages that carry the real facts, lineup, doors, venue, genres, price from, with tickets sold on the platform. Resident and guest DJ profiles. A gallery and clips added after each night, and a mixes section that streams sets. A weekly list.

Then the part that turns a brand site into a platform: partner pages. An organiser who runs nights in Oslo applies, is reviewed within a day or two, and gets a branded page to list events and sell tickets through KlubN.

Three decisions

  1. Tickets on the platform, not a link out. Card payments are taken on the platform, so the buyer stays on the event page and the organiser has one place to see sales.

  2. Partners are reviewed, then self-serve. Anyone can apply; a human approves. After that the organiser runs their own page. The review keeps the platform's name attached only to nights that are real.

  3. Proof over promise. Every photo and clip in the gallery is from an actual KlubN night, added afterwards. The archive of previous events is the marketing.

Outcome

Live at klubn.no, operated by me, with new nights every weekend and the Dopamine Series running on it. Being the operator as well as the builder is the point: every gap a promoter hits, I hit first.

If you are building something similar, I read every brief myself and reply within 48 hours.
